Certain dishes are still good. But avoid noodle soup if for take outs. For the most part however, they are consistent. I like their hot and sour soup, among others. We go there twice a month or so. Good value for the quality.

This is the little eatery that serves all the hits and does every single one of them justice. You want dumplings, they have the juiciest buns and dumplings around. You want noodles, they make all their noodles in house and stew them in the most amazing soups.I love the beef noodles which has tender cuts of beef in a light beef stock. Cilantro and spinach finish off the flavor. Then I share an order of fried pork dumplings or a beef roll.

I love this place! Went last week because I saw it on the Easy Chinese cooking show almost a year ago & vowed to try it. Because of Yelpers I had the handcut beef soup, beef wrap & pan fried pork dumplings. OMG, so good! The soup portion was huge...enough for 3 easily. It is a simple bowl of beef, spinach, noodles, topped with cilantro & scallions. The beef was melt in your mouth tender with just the right amount of fat on it, but no tendon. I actually like a little tendon, but that's not a meal maker/breaker for me. The spinach is cooked to a perfect consistency, the cilantro & scallions are a fresh flavorful accompaniment to this symphony of flavors. Next the broth...without a good broth soup is not gonna make it, however this broth served as the hot tub backdrop for the perfect balance of savory, beefy, seasoned flavor not overwhelmed by salt or thickener. It is silky deliciousness. Everybody in! But let's not forget the star of the show, the noodle. I have never tasted noodles like this in my life ever before. They had their own distinct flavor that I don't have the proper words to describe, and the texture is amazing! There was so much food that I ended up taking the leftovers home. The next day I was amazed at how well the noodles maintained their integrity, and day 2 they still had a hint of bite to them, and the flavor was still intense. The beef wrap was good but it's true what other Yelpers say, that there's not quite enough of the pancake wrapping the content & it tends to fall apart on you, however the thinly sliced beef & fresh veggies inside were delicious. The flavor was not overwhelming, more delecate in fact, but in my humble opinion the uniquely flavored, fresh veggies saved this appetizer because the beef didn't pack as much flavor as I expected. The pot stickers were a big hit in my book. I loved the tangy-vinegar dipping sauce too, but they really didn't need sauce. The pork filling had a mild, pleasant flavor. The doughy outside was so good & crispy on one side, & softly steamed on the other which made for a lovely chewing texture. The softer side also soaks up extra flavor from the potsticker sauce. Yum-my! The green tea was a lovely hot pot with free refills. I was full & happy getting up from the table. The waitress was very sweet & patiently explained menu items. Service was good for what you expect from a deli & the price was excellent. They will see me again!

I have been on a hunt to find the best Chinese noodle restaurant in San Gabriel Valley. My journey so far? Utterly disappointing. We ordered 2 things: spicy seafood noodles (my all time fav!) and "Ja Jiang Mien", minced pork & soybean paste noodles. The seafood noodles lacked flavor, and the bowl of ja jiang mien was wayyyy tooo salty. I couldn't finish it because my tongue was numb from the saltiness.New Golden City in Rowland Heights is MUCH better.

Our exchange student invited us to have dinner with her father and he asked us to meet him at this place. Being American we were unsure what to order so her father ordered the best of everything. All I can say is, "Holy Cow." This was hands down the BEST Chinese food I have ever eaten. Our 9 year old is not crazy about Chinese food but he LOVED it. We came from Orange Coumty and it was well worth the drive. We will definitely come again. Soon!!!Our Chinese daughter and her family are from Shang Xi and they said you cannot get authentic food like this anywhere else but in China. The owner personally cooked a special dish for us. (I'm calling it a beef onion Chinese burrito) I'm sure there is a Chinese name but I don't know it. This isn't even on the menu yet but call ahead and ask. AMAZING.The steamed pork bun (again I don't know the Chinese name) was fried and it melted in my mouth.Okay enough already. I could go on but I think you get the idea.Go to this place. It's incredible. Five star plus.

I occasionally return to this restaurant to fulfill the cravings of the well known Pan Fried Dumplings and the Beef Cake Rolls but much to my dismay this restaurant has surely gone down in service as well as quality. Each time I come back I expect the place to hopefully change my views or somehow uplift my spirits especially suffering plenty of bad experiences here, but it has finally reached it last straw on my most recent visit last week and I don't think I can return. Unfortunately, the restaurant's service is very poor as it lacks waiters and waitresses willing to serve and accommodate the needs of the customer and other tables around us. I found my most recent visit discomforting especially with food arriving late and lack of courtesy given to not only our table but others.Waiting for a long time for our food, I had seen the following: 1) a couple entering the restaurant waiting to be seated and five minutes later leave the place because they were not greeted or even acknowledged for that matter 2) parents and a baby requesting what happened to the food they ordered because they noticed that while sitting in the center of the room, everyone around them has been continuing to be served except for them 3) a family given food, then a waiter returning to their table to apologize and take a plate to provide it to another table 4) a family waiting at the register to pay for the food to-go but continued to wait for a prolonged amount of time because the staff are too preoccupied with other things.I just was disappointed with each of the situations especially since I was able to observe these things cause my food hadn't arrived yet. However, for the food that my friends and I had ordered. Some of it was fresh, especially the pan fried dumplings not so much the beef cake rolls but having been there quite a few times before I can honestly say the quality has gone down. The dumplings have gotten smaller and beef cake rolls are less meat more cilantro and other things that simply changed my outlook of this place.I just lost faith in this place especially as it declines in service and quality every time I come here. Guess this is the end of the road.

Went back to try this place again as the original group who ran it moved down the street on Temple City Blvd with the original dumpling and shanghai noodle soups. Back then the quality then dropped as the kitchen and service staffed walked to the other location. But this location is back! The menu here has all the original same stuff such as the homemade beef noodle soup, dumpling dishes, onion pancake, cucumber salad, etc. but has expanded to many more items than its predecessor which makes gives it a nicer variety.Same no thrills interior as it is all about the food here. Service is friendly from the ladies who work there but they always seem to be a little shorthanded as it always gets busy. But they keep the pace moving. Just go there with patience as if you are really hungry...expect a wait....for a table....to order ....and your food...but once you get your food you will be pleased.Sometimes you get the occasional rude asian who will just walk in and seat themselves even though there are people waiting....but usually the gals there are good and will talk back to them and make sure that those waiting get seated first.Although its known for its beef noodle soup...one thing I found is the hot & sour is one of the best around. Not too oily and not over "hot" where it destroys the flavor. A great choice here if you can resist ordering the other nice noodle soups here. The beef pancake roll is still a fav here. Tender slices of beer, hoisin sauce, chinese parsley and thinly slice cucumbers rolled up in their homemade onion pancake. And please don't forget to tip the ladies here. They work their butts off here and you will notice that some older asians don't tip (as it is not customary in their culture if you are from China, HK or other parts of Asia) but these ladies are prob still only making min wage and they work their arses off everyday. Also nice 2 for 1 boba milk tea...not bad.

Ive been to Mandarin Noodle a decently amount of time throughout the years, and always had a good experience. I always had enjoyed their dumplings and their hand made noodle. So coming here this past week, I was really looking forward to satisfied meal. They were pretty busy on a Friday evening, but we were quickly served even though they had only 2 main waitresses running around. The first thing I noticed and realized that I won't be too satisfied was when I tried their tea, you can taste the unfiltered water, and it was clear they used tap water infused with some tea leafs, strike 1.The lady came by to take our orders, I asked her in Mandarin what she would recommend for a Vegetarian and she named a few plates quickly that I barely figure out what was what. So I asked again, and she said "I already told you what you can eat." Wow, really Chinese people are so rude sometimes. Anyways, she finally showed me a photo and said "a lot of people order this, you should get it. "Strike 2!So we got:Za Jaing Mein- okay, noodle was chewy but it was too salty.Vegetarian Gyoza - not as great as i remembered it to be.and the "popular dish" - that was so bland that I had to let the lady know, I asked if it was okay to get something else in replace of this bland dish and she said she will add more "flavor" to it. So she brought it back with more eggs and sweet and sour sauce. I placed it on the side of the table, until she came back and offered me what I wanted. I thought it was so unnecessary she should of just given me what I wanted to start, now things are just awkward. The Za Jiang mein that I opted out for was better but still not as good as I remembered. Strike 3!!!! The Extra star was given because I was at least able put food in my tummy, but they def. need to work on their customer service skills.

LOVE this place.I work right next door, so I've been here a couple times. I love the noodles and huge portions! But I can never finish the bowls of noodles by myself so I try not to go on my own. The tables are a bit sticky and windows seem dirty, but I don't care about stuff like that when the food is good. :)WHAT I'VE TRIED:- - - Beef Noodle Soup : Hits the spot every single time! I've had this with knife-cut (dao shao) noodles and the hand pulled noodles and I always enjoy it. I actually prefer the hand pulled noodles more. Its nice and chewy and soaks up just enough soup. The beef is nice and tender. Perfect on a cold day!- - - Green Onion Pancake : I've had better. They're still good but a bit bland (in my humble opinion). It tasted more like naan to me than green onion pancake.- - - San Jian Bao : Usually the San Jian Bao I prefer are daintier than the ones they serve here. I ordered them for my lunch break once (these take longer, I think 30 min?) and when I opened the to-go box my mouth dropped at the size of them. I think there were 8 or so and I ended eating them for two lunches in a row. They were good but super filling since there's so much bao.- - - Potstickers : Got these to-go as well. A few of them leaked so they were swimming in the juices and got soggy :( but nonetheless still good.- - - Shanghai Style Fried Ricecake : I prefer the Fried Ricecake at Supreme Dragon. They stir-fried the ricecake while it had too much moisture so these ended up too soggy. Will not order again.- - - Leek & Pork uhhhh Wraps? : Idk what these were called but it was like a bigger dumpling that was wrapped circularly and then flattened! THESE WERE BOMB! super oily though.A great place to go for solid Chinese food/ soup noodles. I think they don't like you using credit card unless you spend more than $20, but they're not too strict about it.

After buying out the name and business of the Mandarin Noodle Deli, the 'New' Mandarin Noodle Deli has done a decent job of maintaining what was built before it.Pretty solid noodle dishes, but nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurant is generally clean and moderately bussed. The waitresses are slightly stand-off-ish and just want to get the tasks complete.. leaving out the customer care and service.. but who am I kidding? This is a Chinese restaurant. You want customer service, go non-Asian.Their staples are the beef noodle soup, the beef roll/wrap, and their dumplings. Solid across the board, but no real flare. They have buy one get one free boba, but it's just mediocre boba. It's like going to a burger joint for fried chicken.. just because they have it doesn't mean it's good.Their bathrooms are extremely small and have almost no operating room because the inswing of the door eliminates all room for mobility.Parking can be found on the streets on Primrose and/or Las Tunas.Flavors are balanced, portions, are good, but just.. nothing extra special. The one special thing? It's a Chinese place that actually accepts CREDIT CARDS! None of this shady CASH ONLY business :D

I am surprised this restaurant has such few ratings. My family and I often come here for their noodles. They offer SIX different types of noodles. Yum! I love their xiao ma mien (slightly spicy seafood noodles) and they also have a stir-fried seafood noodle which is really good as well. Their noodle portions are very generous, definitely enough to feed 2-3 people. Their beef rolls however are just okay. They did not wrap the entire roll so it was a little loose. By simply picking one piece up, it would easily fall apart. The pieces were also a bit small. They give 6 pieces but 3 of the 6 pieces were pretty small. Their beef noodle soup is pretty good as well. I love their dao xiao mein (knife cut noodles) and the beef pieces did not have any fat or tendon which I love! The prices are reasonable for the food, considering the noodle portions are huge. There is also parking in the front and the back as well. The service is okay but we did not really get much of an interaction with them since they were so busy.

Upon telling my girlfriend that I had a dao xiao mein craving, I was taken to this restaurant. I was a bit skeptical considering the low ratings on yelp, but the food was quite good! There were a reasonable number of people at the restaurant but they were still fast to accommodate for us as a table of 7.The restaurant is not particularly clean, and it can be a little hard to catch the attention of the servers. However, the friendliness of their service and the delicious food makes up for it!We ordered 6 dishes to share between the 7 of us, and it was the perfect amount.Beef noodle soup: The dao xiao mein is pretty much made for beef noodle soup. The pairing was fantastic, although the dao xiao mein was a tad bit overcooked making it less chewy and more tender. The soup base was fine, but it would've been so much better if there was more flavor in the soup.Chao ma mein: This was decent as well! The soup had a good flavor to it, they gave reasonable portions of seafood, but the noodles were once again a bit overcooked. Perhaps they test the noodles inside and cook them until they're the proper tenderness, but by the time they reach the table they're overcooked due to the heat of the soup.We ordered another noodle dish that was a stir-fried noodles with seafood. The noodles were quite good and chewy in this one, as it was stir-fried rather than in soup. If I liked seafood, I'd probably really enjoy getting this dish on a regular basis.Beef pancake roll: This dish was disappointing. The beef and the sauce they use is decent, but the portion size was quite small and the pancakes barely wrapped the meat and veggies, causing it to fall apart if you tried picking it up. If they fixed that issue and gave bigger portions, this would probably be a good dish.Stir-fried vegetables: This dish lacked flavor. They give a decent amount of vegetables, but it wasn't very well seasoned. For the price, I'd probably rather get another bowl of noodles.Pan-fried buns: This was the most disappointing out of all the dishes. There was absolutely no flavor. They pretty much took a flavorless meat bun and stuck it on top of a pan coated with oil, thus browning the bottom. Nothing special about it. I ended up dousing these buns in soy sauce and white pepper, making it substantially better.Overall, this place was decent, and considering how reasonable its prices are I would definitely return here for more noodles. I love dao xiao mein, and I'm glad that I can get it here, especially in big portions!

I didn't get to try this place before the change of ownership, so I don't have much to gripe about regarding food quality, and I thought this place was OK. It's not the best noodle place I've been to though, and I'm not sure whether I'll be back. This restaurant sells Shanxi style cuisine, so the food generally isn't spicy. There are a lot of carb items with meat (noodles, buns, dumplings, etc), which is what they're known for. The noodle soups come in large portions, so you can definitely share with 2-3 people. I like that you can also choose the type of noodles you want -- my family chose the knife-cut noodles, which are a bit thicker and flatter than regular hand pulled noodles but are chewier. We also tried the fried meat buns and beef wrap. The best beef wrap I've had is currently still at 101 Noodle, and I've been on a hunt ever since to find something similar or better. New Mandarin Noodle's beef wrap did not meet my standard, and was stuffed with more tendon than meat. There was no dinner rush during a weekend, so maybe this restaurant isn't as popular as it was before. I came here around 2 PM and I was surprised to see so many people! The beef noodle soup was really good. They have three different kinds of noodles, and I chose the fattest one haha. I was surprised at the amount of noodles they gave us. There was so much that for about $7, it was well worth the price. The broth was savory and I really liked that they add cilantro for some extra spiciness. There was a little too much green onions, but other than that, it was very good. There was a decent amount of meat, and it was quite tender. I just wish they had included some tendons instead of these whole chunks of meat. The xiao long bao (8 pieces) were pretty good, except that the little dumplings had already exploded, so we didn't get the soupy broth that's inside of them. There was meat on a few of the little dumplings, but overall it was pretty good. If you really like the soup inside, then it's a little disappointing to find that they exploded. The potstickers were really good, except that we waited for a good ten minutes after the other two dishes had come out before it came. It was sloppily tossed onto the plate (I guess the chef was in a rush), but delicious nonetheless. I really like the crispiness of the potstickers and was well worth the wait. They only accept credit cards, and our total came out to be around $19.52 or something (less than $0.50 off!) but they wouldn't take the card. Some restaurants are lenient and say what the heck, but they are a little stricter. The service was decent ... but I suspect that when the restaurant is full, the ladies get backed up and the service becomes a lot slower. The seats are a little sticky.

It is really special and delicious too:) overall, eating at new mandarin noodle deli is a great experience and we will come back again soon.oh! i also found the link below on fb , you might wanna check it out:)!http://www.facebook.com/…
